It has nothing to do with the curse status. None of your answers had anything to do with the topic. I'm also struggling with this episode. My best attempt was with Shield/Armour-Abilities.
WebSOme of the middle episodes are a bitch and kind of suck tbh (Robit episode 3/4 is one i'm thinking of). It will take a while unless you get really lucky. Once you beat all 6 episodes with every character (you have to unlock the 6th one by beating them 3 times iirc) you get the "final" episode which is really fun. I've replayed it 20+ times.
