It was an outpouring of the community honoring St. Nicholas’ pastor, the Rev. Dr. Lawrence (Larry) Percell, for his more than a decade of service. WebNicholas Church was built and blessed on Lincoln Avenue in 1942, and in 1953 St. Nicholas School was established at Rosita and Campbell Avenues. As the Catholic community grew, so did the demand for a Catholic education. In 1961 a new school was built at our current location on El Monte Road and celebrated our first graduating class in 1967.
